Placement with Manufacture 2030

Manufacture 2030 is a mission-led software company, working with manufacturing businesses & retailers across the globe to help them reduce their environmental impacts & be more sustainable. You will be working with the company’s customer & product teams, and as it is a small organisation you will see the entire operation – and how a start-up operates.

What will the placement project involve?

The clients Manufacture 2030 work with are often keen to make a positive difference in their own organisations, but are too often lacking the practical skills when it comes to change management & behaviour change to really utilise their energy and our software/service to full effect.

The focus of this placement will be to help research the latest good practices for behaviour change, change management, and psychology – and to help create a simple framework the company can both use with their clients, but also empower them to use with their internal colleagues.

The outcomes will be a resource pack, summary of readings & findings, a well explained and simple to follow framework.

If time allows you will be able to help test this out in the field. This might include working with high profile manufacturing businesses. Examples of our current clients include Stanley Black & Decker, Honda, Interface, and many more.

You will also be involved in working with the company’s ongoing collaborative sustainability programmes with two of the UK’s leading retailers & their manufacturing supply chains. This activity will be more operational than the behaviour change framework development.

An interest in behaviour change, change management, and/or psychology

Ideally an interest in how the above can apply with regard to climate change/manufacturing businesses.
