SBS Staff Want to Brighten Christmas

SBS staff supporting Homeless Oxfordshire this Christmas

Housing today, Hope for tomorrow

Homeless Oxfordshire provides accommodation for over 200 people a night, and serves up 75,000 meals every single year to people of Oxfordshire. In addition to their 56 bed hostel they also have 144 beds across the local community in 24 properties, offering residents a full range of support to those who are struggling with addiction or trying to build a new life.

Staff from Saïd Business School wanted to do something to brighten the Christmas of Homeless Oxfordshire's residents. They asked the residents what they would love to receive on Christmas day, what would help to build their self-esteem and independence. A gift wish-list of over 200 gifts (jumpers, chocolates, books, dog coats plus many more) has been created, and you can join in.

At all of the the SBS sites there are boards with gift tags detailing gifts residents would like to receive. If you would like to be involved and buy a gift, either pop along to one of the sites or email charity@sbs.ox.ac.uk. You can buy a gift with a group, or buy more than one gift. You can also make a donation to Homeless Oxfordshire, the official charity of SBS this Christmas.

The gifts will be wrapped by the SBS team and delivered. Watch out for photos on Twitter.

Let’s brighten up the resident of Homeless Oxfordshire on Christmas day!
