The Weidenfeld Scholarships and Leadership Programme cultivates the leaders of tomorrow by providing outstanding university graduates and professionals with the opportunity to pursue fully-funded graduate studies at the University of Oxford, in conjunction with a comprehensive programme of leadership development, long-term mentoring and networking.

The weidenfeld scholarships and leadership programme

The programme is managed by the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD). ISD is an independent think tank working with leaders in government, business, academia and the media to develop multi-country responses to the major security and socio-economic challenges of our time and to enhance Europe’s capacity to act effectively in the global arena.

To date, over 130 scholars have taken part in the programme. They are an increasingly diverse group, originating from 48 countries, and studying across 29 departments.

The Weidenfeld Scholarships and Leadership Programme has greatly enriched my experience of Oxford, without dictating to it. I have met and made friends with an amazing array of very talented people from all corners of the globe: I have found my fellow scholars intelligent, diverse, well-rounded and compassionately ambitious, with a strong conviction to changing the world in one way or another. Whilst the Weidenfeld Scholarships and Leadership Programme is incredibly generous, its real value exceeds its financial benefaction. As a Weidenfeld scholar one joins a community of driven, like-minded people who have together embarked on a life changing experience at one of the greatest universities in the world together. - Matthew de la Hey, MSc African Studies, New College, recent Louis Dreyfus-Weidenfeld scholar
