Oxford social scientist joins royal society fellowship By Skowronek

Two Oxford social scientists have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

  • Dr Hilary Frances Emery, Honorary Norham Fellow at the University of Oxford, is appointed CBE for services to children and young people.
  • Professor Melinda Mills, Nuffield Professor of Sociology at the Department of Sociology and Fellow of Nuffield College, is appointed MBE for services to social science.

Professor Sarah Whatmore, Head of the Social Sciences Division, said: 'On behalf of the Division, I should like to extend warm congratulations to Dr Emery and Professor Mills. It is gratifying to see the continuing excellence of the Social Sciences at Oxford recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours'.
