Join Prof Felix Reed-Tsochas as he makes art on a huge scale, bringing visitors' individual pieces together to create a unique piece of collective creativity.

Members of the CABDyN Complexity Centre at the Saïd Business School invite you to explore collective creation and innovation, by asking many different visitors to contribute to an emerging design generated by the placement of tiles. Our research shows how larger structures and behaviours emerge from the interactions of simple rules applied by many individuals. This is a key feature of complex systems that can be observed in many groups of social animals including humans, and underpins the success of open-source design and innovation.

Dr Felix Reed-Tsochas is the James Martin Lecturer in Complex Systems and Associate Dean for Research at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. His research is applied across a wide range of business, financial and social issues. His latest research explores the impact of social media and mobile phone usage, revealing that individuals display a distinctive social signature, which is determined by their interactions across different social networks.
