Young carers in south africa

Young Carers SA is a group of collaborative, evidence-based research projects that seek to better understand and address the needs of children, adolescents and families in AIDS-affected communities in rural South Africa.

Many people came and visited our exhibition to learn more about our work, and to take part in a competition to design a fashion prototype which enables HIV+ adolescent to carry their antiretroviral medication with them in a cool and discreet way so they are encouraged to take them. These ideas directly contributed towards research with the Youth Pulse project that aims to help HIV+ adolescents in rural South Africa.
