The Division has agreed a Research Strategy spanning the period between 2015 and 2020. The Research Strategy is underpinned by a series of initiatives, such as incubator funding (to which academic and research staff can apply for funding to support their research and in order to build networks around cutting edge research themes) and significant support for Early Career Researchers [insert link] (for example, via matched funding for Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowships).

The division's Research Strategy Group provides academic oversight of the Research Strategy and coordinates consideration of institutional initiatives and external opportunities and requirements by social sciences departments. The Group submits recommendations to the division's Planning and Resources Committee and the university's Research Committee.

The divisional Research & Impact team can also help with the development and monitoring of departmental research strategies; please contact the Assistant Registrar (Research).
