A Musical Tour of the World through Dramatized Songs
A Musical Tour of the World through Dramatized Songs
Join Cate, Faidra and Hamish from the Applied Linguistics research group at the University of Oxford’s Department of Education for a multilingual, musical tour of the world!
We will teach you to sing some favourite children's songs in new languages - have you ever heard Old MacDonald in Italian? The Wheels on the Bus in German? Row the Boat in Norwegian?
Watch them come to life through drama-inspired actions. In between singing sessions, we will share some amazing facts about the languages people speak in the UK, full of interesting insights into how our language is shaped by all the wonderful connections we have to the wider world in which we live.
Activity led by Hamish Chalmers, Cate Hamilton and Faidra Faitaki, Department of Education, University of Oxford.
