Advanced Qualitative Research Course - AY2023-2024

Where: Seminar Room E, Department of Education, 15 Norham Gardens, OX2 6PY.
When: Tuesday’s of term time (generally 10-11:30am), starting Week 2 MT.

The course is open to D.Phil. students across the Social Sciences Division. The course is designed to help you develop skills and understanding relating to the analysis and reporting of qualitative data. It is most suitable for those who have finished fieldwork and beginning or in the midst of analysis and writing. The structure of the course reflects the issues and challenges that students have faced using qualitative data in their research, is quite practical and highly discursive in nature.

If you would like to attend AQR, please complete an Expression of Interest form here:

Registration is for at least both Michaelmas and Hilary terms; Trinity term is optional.
You are asked to commit to attend all sessions because of the nature of the seminars. Some hybrid teaching is possible, if necessary, but in-person attendance is the standard. Course handbooks will be provided for attendees who have registered, and Microsoft Teams will be used for class organisation, collaboration, and file sharing.

Please contact Dr Liam Guilfoyle if you have any additional queries.
