I lead a professional and coordinated service to the academic departments of the Social Sciences Division, the Social Sciences Board and the central university in all aspects of the employment cycle of academic staff, academic title and reward schemes, and divisional office appointments, by combining strategic and operational HR responsibilities.

I support the Head of Division and the Associate Head of Division for People in a range of strategic, operational and policy matters and in contributions to University thinking on HR issues. Within the division, I liaise closely with the Divisional Registrar and the central HR Business Partner Team for Social Sciences to understand their business objectives and provide HR support and advice, whilst managing any associated risks, and with the divisional Equality Manager to ensure departments and divisional managers experience an integrated HR service.

I also collaborate with those in equivalent roles in the other academic divisions and with a wide range of central HR functions including the Reward, Policy, Staff Immigration and Senior Appointments Teams.

I manage the delivery of regular gathered field exercises, such as Recognition of Distinction and Associate Professor Title and also cases for overscale salary or Professorial title requiring the approval of the Senior Appointments Panel.

I represent the Social Sciences Division on relevant University-level committees.
