PI Support and Development Programme: advancing a research culture that is supportive, inclusive, an

Calling all researchers in the Social Sciences Division!

Are you:

  • A PI (i.e., an academic or researcher who manages other researchers as part of their role), or
  • A fixed-term researcher in the Social Sciences?

Would you be willing to be interviewed about your experiences?

The University is developing a programme of work to advance a research culture that is supportive, inclusive, and equitable. Priorities include supporting research careers, integrity in research practice, and recognising a diversity of talents and contributions.

As part of this, the PI Support and Development pilot aims to understand how Oxford can better support PIs in their roles as leaders of research teams.

We are seeking to interview a selection of PIs and fixed-term researchers. Interviews should last around 45 minutes to an hour and will cover issues such as:

  • any challenges you faced and how you dealt with them;
  • your views on what makes an effective academic leader and manager;
  • what support you received (as a FTR or PI) and how helpful it was; and
  • what other support, if any, might have been useful to you.

If you would like to get in touch or have any questions, please email katherine.collins@socsci.ox.ac.uk
