Applications now open for 2026 Local Policy Lab Fellowship Programme

The Local Policy Lab is recruiting graduate students from the University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes University for its 2026 Fellowship.

An alliance between the University of Oxford, Oxford Brookes University and Oxfordshire County Council, the Local Policy Lab promotes partnerships between academia, community, and government in order to inform policy and improve quality of life for Oxfordshire residents.

Now in its third year, the Local Policy Lab Fellowship programme pairs graduate students from the University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes University with a local policy partner to conduct research with the goal of supporting evidence-based policymaking and address the socio-economic underpinnings of health across Oxfordshire. In 2026 Fellows will work with county and district council policy officers on 10-week research projects tackling policy challenges in the following thematic areas:

  • Enabling children and young people to thrive
  • Delivering inclusive growth, a skilled workforce, and fair employment
  • Ensuring a healthy standard of living for all

The Local Policy Lab Fellowship will run from 27 April 2026 to 10 July 2026. Applications are due at 23:59 GMT on 8 March 2026.
