Social Sciences departments top 2020 QS World University Rankings in three subjects

The 2020 QS World University Rankings for subjects have been released today. We are thrilled to announce that the University of Oxford ranks number one for Anthropology, Archaeology and Geography.

The University has also been ranked as number two in the world for Law, Social Policy, Sociology and Development Studies, and fourth for Education and Politics and International Studies.

Professor Dame Sarah Whatmore, Head of the Social Sciences Division said

Colleagues will want to join me in extending warm congratulations to Geography and Archaeology for being ranked first in their subject in the QS World University both for the fourth time, and to Anthropology for joining this premier league for the second time. This means that the Social Sciences Division has 3 of the University’s 8 top ranked departments.
