Boosting innovation in environmental research

The new interdisciplinary Environmental Science Impact Acceleration Account (Environment IAA) is designed to accelerate the impact of environmental research beyond academia.

The new Environment IAA will address a long-standing unmet need for innovation and translation funding dedicated for natural environment-related research. It is funded via the University's Strategic Innovation Fund and managed by the Social Sciences Division, and supported by a cross-divisional team.

Through the Environment IAA, Oxford's environmental research will be better placed to accelerate solutions to restore and manage nature effectively, to generate social and economic benefits from the natural environment and to enable the application of environment research solutions to the planning and construction sectors, as well as energy, natural resources and food sectors.

The scheme is open to University of Oxford researchers who are undertaking environment-related research across any disciplinary area, and will support a portfolio of activities at different stages of impact development through three complementary streams.

How to apply

Applications are now open, and can be submitted on a rolling basis.

More information about eligibility, the three funding streams and deadlines is available on the SSD Sharepoint (SSO required) or by contacting enviaa@socsci.ox.ac.uk.
