Migration Sounds

What are the sounds of migration? More than 100 amazing recordings of the lived experience of migration from all over the world have been collected, recomposed and reimagined into a brand-new collection of compositions. The Migration Sounds project offers a unique way to explore and understand human migration and settlement through field recordings and the artistic responses to those sounds.

Come and hear the first large-scale public exploration of the sounds of migration amplified in the historic Pitt Rivers Museum. Entrance is via the Museum of Natural History, Parks Road, OX1 3PW. Accessible entrance via Robinson Close. Exhibition is open 6-8 November. (10:00-17:00 on Wednesday and Thursday. 10:00-15:30 on Friday.)

This event is led by Rob McNeil and Delphine Boagey (COMPAS, University of Oxford), and Stuart Fowkes (Cities and Memory)
