Research Impact Fundamentals in the Social Sciences

This introductory workshop is intended to support early and mid-career researchers to understand the fundamentals of impact in the social sciences and how to embed impact into their research projects and proposals.  

In this interactive session, we’ll start with the question of defining impact, and work through the key elements that you need to think about in order to get the best possible research outcomes – for yourself and the people who might benefit from your research.  

Working interactively will enable researchers to gain an understanding of both peer-academic and research-support perspectives on impact.  

Intended learning outcomes:

1. Understand the fundamentals of impact in the social sciences 

2. Receive a basic understanding on how to embed impact into research proposals and projects.
