Research Impact Facilitator
Juliet is one of four Research Impact Facilitators in the Division's Research, Impact & Engagement Team. As a primary point of contact for support and advice on research impact and engagement, she assists academic colleagues and departmental support staff to undertake and record impact, maximise its reach and significance, construct effective narratives for REF Impact Case studies underpinned by appropriate evidence, and to evaluate impact.
Juliet works closely with Charlotte Medland, Rebecca Jones, Sam Harper, and Alex Martalogu, to build impact capacity within and across departments, including training, feedback and expert advice.
She is the lead contact for:
- School of Geography and the Environment
- Oxford School of Global and Area Studies (OSGA)
Juliet was previously the Researcher and Training Officer on the Responsible Knowledge Exchange, Engagement and Impact 2021-24 project (RKEEI), the Participatory Research Oxford initiative and on a research study exploring creativity and curiosity in the classroom.
Juliet completed her doctoral studies at the University of Edinburgh, where she worked with LEGO, voice-recorders and photography to explore children's perspectives on school environments, communication and play. She also conducted a study interviewing researchers about conducting collaborative and meaningful research with autistic children and young people. She originally trained as a Secondary School teacher and has a PGCE and Masters in Education from the University of Cambridge.
