The Power Hour: communicating research beyond academia

The Power Hour: communicating research beyond academia

About the training

This session is designed to help researchers clearly communicate their existing research to private sector stakeholders, identify ways to approach and make connections with them, as well as create opportunities for potential collaborations. Specifically, the participants will be encouraged to create a one-pager of their proposal/intended collaboration and target the business they would like to engage with. The training is suitable for DPhils and ECRs who are interested in collaborating with business organisations in relation to their research, regardless of whether they have a specific organisation in mind or not.

Objectives

  • Learn how to communicate one’s research and research ideas to business
  • Understand how to use infographics
  • Create a one-page visual summary as a dissemination tool
