2021-22 Teaching Development and Enhancement Projects (TDEP) awards: Round 2

The Division is now welcoming applications for funding to the second round of the divisional Teaching Development and Enhancement Project (TDEP) awards scheme for 2021-22. Please return applications to Anna Warrington (Quality Assurance Officer), qa@socsci.ox.ac.uk, by Friday 13 May 2022.

The Division allocates £30,000 on an annual basis to support the development of learning and teaching across the division with a benefit for graduate students, undergraduate students, or both.  Grants up to either £6 000 or £10 000 will be made depending on the scope of the project:

1) Grants up to £6,000 can be awarded to projects likely to directly benefit students from a single department or unit, or as a buy-out for staff wishing to take the PGCert in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.

2) Grants up to £10,000 can be awarded to projects likely to benefit students in multiple departments/ units. Projects focussed on the development of initiatives which support the sharing of research methods and skills training are also eligible.

Criteria for award is broad, and grants can be used to support a diverse range of work. Funds can be used to support entirely new provision, the development of existing provision, or to fund an aspect of a larger project. Eligible projects may encompass a range of activity including the purchase of learning technology or teaching material, the production of teaching material, or as ‘buy-outs’ of staff resource. Grants may also be awarded to underpin the cost of delivering a pilot project, in order to establish demand.

The scheme is open to staff who teach in disciplines and subject areas within the division’s
