Support for researchers in the Social Sciences Division can be found locally in each department, from the Research, Impact and Engagement (RIE) team in the division, and centraly in the Research Services Grants team.
All departments in the Social Sciences Division have staff providing support and guidance for researchers making a funding application. Researchers are advised to contact their department in the first instance to discuss their proposed application, develop the associated budget, and obtain departmental approval prior to submission.
Members of RIE team specialise in providing guidance and support on various aspects of research funding. Our Divisional Research Facilitator specialises in PI-led fellowships and grants, with a particular focus on Early Career Researchers. The Research Impact Facilitators are attached to particular departments in the division, and specialise in the planning of impact and non-academic engagement within your research design.
Our Senior Divisional Research Facilitator specialises in multi-partner, collaborative research projects and programmes, and associated project management. The team's Research Administrator coordinates the arrangement of mock interviews for externally funded grants and fellowships. The RIE team can provide bespoke training, advice, and funding information seminars for departments, research centres and researchers at particular career stages.
The Business Engagement and Partnerships Managers are also attached to particular deparments/faculties in both the Social Sciences and Humanities Divisions. They specialise in facilitating researcher engagement with business and industry.
University central support teams provide specialist advice and guidance about research funding, application submission, contract negotiation and post-award management to departments and Principal Investigators through Research Services, the Finance Division (Especially Research Accounts) and Oxford University Innovation Ltd.
